Christmas: Last One Not married

Christmas Came and it was grand!

It was my last Christmas as a single lady. It felt strange, I really wanted to enjoy time with my family,  because I know once I get married things will not be the same.

I am obviously excited to be getting married! I am blessed to be marring the love of my life, my one and only. I can barely contain the excitement. The idea of being by his side for the rest of my life is magnificent! I sort of wish we had met years ago so we could begin our life together sooner!

Yet despite all the excitement there is. a part of me that is a bit, melancholic. I feel weirded by how after the wedding my whole life will change! I will go from living at my home with my mom and my grandparents to living with a man! I am excited and nervous and its strange!

The idea of living with HIM makes me HAPPY! The happiest I've ever been knowing I will spend the rest of my life by his wonderful side! yet a part feels a tiny bit sad to leave the place I've called home for so many years! Its a bit sad not having my mom around all the time. Yes I might sound like a little girl but hey I will say it again, I will miss having my mom around!

So I am enjoying all those last special occasions that will be my last as a single lady.
Next year I will be writing on how wonderful splendid Married life is I am sure but for now lets talk about last unmarried days.

31st Bucket List

So I just realized that I haven't done my yearly bucket list, so here it goes in no particular order:

  1. Will marry the love of my life! The person I adore, love admire, respect and can't live without. He is my blessing and I will promise this year to be his FOREVER, to always be true and faithful and to do my best to make him happy and make sure our love continues to grow.
  2. Will enjoy my last Christmas as a single lady, it's a bit sad to think that it is my last Christmas living at home. At this time, I am experiencing many emotions and most of them are happy happiness like I have never experienced before, but a small part of me is a tiny bit melancholic. It's weird to think I won't see my mom every day nor my grandparents,  nor my aunt, not even my little puppy Suki. I am not complaining living with the man I love will be amazing but part of me will miss the old days.
  3. Make sure to give the love of my life a freakin fantastic Birthday!!!!!!
  4. Finish my teaching certification, pass the exams
  5. Get a job as a teacher!
  6. Read 50 books in one year. Overly ambitious but will try!
  7. Attend Little brothers March ceremony.
  8. Attend little brothers Wedding !!!!  I will get a new sister!!!
  9. Attend little brothers and my brand new sister's Graduation!
  10. Go on a mini moon!!!
  11. Go on an amazing Honeymoon and getting my love his first stamp on his passport!
  12. Continue to write on blog!
  13. Get an apartment with the love of my life! Make it OUR home!
  14. Get a puppy! Adoption!
  15. Stop drinking coke
  16. Stop chewing gum
  17. Stop eating sweets
  18. Stop biting nails
  19. Be healthier (doctor visits, vaccinations, eating better, exercise more, etc)
  20. Win the lottery!
  21. Become more organized!
  22. Pray more! Read bible more, do more things toward God my savior. To remind myself every day that I am in His hands, that He knows best, that I just have to say YES!

For now lets leave it at 22... I want to leave room for surprises this year!

31st Bring It ON

Yesterday was my birthday!

I feel incredibly blessed. The day was perfect. During the morning I received a lot of phone calls, and messages and singing telegrams from all my friends and family.

In the afternoon my family and my fiancé took me to enjoy a delicious dinner at Buca Di Beppo. It was so much fun, the only person missing was my little brother and his fiancé but oh well I guess they will have to come celebrate me laters. It was an amazing meal, we ate, took beautiful pictures, enjoyed in upbeat conversations and just enjoyed ourselves together.

After the meal my honey took me on a shopping spree!!! He ended up buying me a bunch of things: two purses, an iPad case, a strawberry soap, and a purse holder. He is spoiling me rotten! I keep telling him he doesn't have to but he just keeps on pampering me! But the best gift he got me was a handwritten letter. Those are my kryptonite! He is so honest and true, and romantic that my poor heart doesn't stand a chance, it just keeps falling even deeper in love with him, and it is the absolute best things he can do for me. His sincere and loving words fill my love tank all the way!!!!

Then we went to his parents house, his sister and parents had gifts for me too. They are the sweetest! I told them it wasn't necessary but they insisted! amazingly kind!

So that was my last B-day as a single lady, next year I will be a married lady! So excited!!!!

Stressful November

So This is going to be a very busy month.

I am a bit worried!

Excited but worried.

It just feels very overwhelming.

I start the Online Teacher Certification this week and I am terrified!

I haven't studied, or done any sort of school since collage and that was back in 2010!

Also have a pretty big interview this week and I am so nervous because I really want the job! It has benefits and a 401K and its a Monday through Friday thing and that would be awesome because I can totally use the weekends for wedding planning.

Also this week is my birthday and I haven't even had time to begin making my new bucket list. And I haven't even began planning how I want to celebrate the big 31st!

I guess If I am being perfectly honest, all I want is:

a) A nice family breakfast, it's strange to think its my last birthday as a single lady. By next year I will have a handsome hubby, a new last name and a new zip code.

b) A day out with the fiancé! Maybe a picnic, just us. Then maybe convince him to accompany me to mass

c) End the day having some friends over to the house for some drinks

Well I have 5 days to plan all of this, wish me luck.

Also in a totally less important issue  I borrowed a book and I forgot I had borrowed it and now I need to return it by Wednesday! Can I finish it?... We shall see!

Colors? Themes?

So my fiancé and I had chosen our colors Navy Blue! I thought it would all go smoothly after choosing the colors.
I was really excited to get the ball running on this, but it has turned out to be harder than I thought.

We haven't been able to decide on the centerpieces.

Yesterday he told me we haven't picked our wedding theme. I was like what? And he proceeded to explain that we haven't decided our "wedding theme" and a friend of his mentioned this being important. I was a bit confused by this because I thought navy blue was all we needed. Apparently it's not. It turns out your colors need to work according to a theme.

Yes there are some people that go overboard and have big Harry Potter, starwars or lord of the rings  theme weddings. But for those of us less adventures we have a bit more simple themes.

I say simple but they are still really elaborated!

We have rustic, vintage, classic, modern, bohemian etc etc etc

So I took a quiz because apparently I have no idea how to pick a theme.
The quiz was simple and at the end it said my theme should be CLASSIC

WHAT THE HELL DOES THAT EVEN MEAN?

I feel so overwhelmed and lost, have weddings always been this complicated?

Why are they so complicated?!

So now I am knees deep in Pinterest and I still have no idea what our theme should be!
Anyways I am falling down the the rabit hole filled with centerpieces, flowers, linens etcetera!!!!

Any advise?

November!!!!!!!

This is my month!

Yes I am one of those super annoying people who claims an entire month as her own.

AND I DON'T CARE WHAT YOU THINK

I love my B-month!

I like celebrating big time and making all sort f celebrations with friend family and even on my own!

I love the celebration of the month I was born.

Ok I swear I am not entirely narcissistic I just really like to celebrate life, and B-days are the biggest celebration of all!

Another year is an opening for a zillion possibilities!

RIP:Dead Series

I found a show on HULU called Bunheads. It apparently came out years ago and it was from the same writers as the Gilmore Girls series. I began watching it and was immediately hooked! The story is unique, fun and the characters are amazing, complex and you instantly fall involve with every single one of them.

The big disappointment came when I reached the end of the series only to discover that it wasn't picked up for a second season. This broke my heart! I don't understand how a series of this quality was canned.

Another add on to the long list of dead tv series I grew to love.

Teaching

So after much much much deliberation, I've decided that I want to become a teacher.

Honestly the thought had always been knocking on the back of my head I just did't want to admit it.
It wasn't where I wanted my life to head but now that I am actually making it happen (slowly but surely) I am really excited.

The idea of maybe showing kids something sounds very rewarding. And honestly the more I think about teaching the more I am surprised that I didn't think about starting earlier. I think it will be the perfect career for me. It involves constant change which I thrive in, then it involves kids which I have always seen as hope for our society, and long vacation! Which I will leap in joy especially since it will be happening next to the love of my life!

I think starting this new career path now along with all the other changes in my life is going to be great a lot of work sure but so much fun!!! Especially because I have the support and cheer of a man that I admire and love profoundly. I couldn't do any of this with out him. Mi amor!

A Tiny Review on: Netflix: The Haunting of Hill House

Image result for the haunting of hill house

I just finished watching The Haunting of Hill House on Netflix and I am left in AWE.

The series is fantastic! It keeps you on the edge of my seat. I held my breath and feel my heart race as the events unfold.

Without giving away too much: The story evolves around the Crain family who just arrived at Hill House which is a house over 100 years old and which they plan on restoring and selling for a bid chunk of money. The house itself is beautiful. It like a mini-palace more than a house. Everything in the story evolves from one of the Crain's perspective. This way of telling the story is a bit confusing since it jumps back and forth in the timeline. It is  however BRILLIANT, it messes with your head in a way that emerges you fully in the story, in such a way that it everything the characters experience becomes something that could be happening to a close friend.

My favorite character is by far little Theo, played by Mckenna Grace. A brilliant actress with a sensibility that goes well beyond her age. She is someone worth keeping an eye on, she has the talent to be extraordinary.

The story is well directed, marvelously played and brilliantly developed. In saying this let me just say the ending confused the hell out me. So if any one would like to give me their thoughts on it it would be immensely appreciated.

Wedding Expenses

I was very excited to request a quote from a real florist. It was fun. We planned what flowers I wanted and how beautiful it would look with our flower combinations.

At the end of the quote I was getting charged 2600 dollars!

I was shocked. I'd ask for the most economical way to do it. I never imagined it be this crazy expensive!

So I had to lay my idea of natural flowers to rest. There is no way I can have a floral display if it's going to cost so much money.

Food is so pricey too. Can I just not feed the guest?
What about cake, How can cake be so expensive?

I feel my heart race and my find circle until the whole room is spinning so fast that I forget how to breath!

Any advise to this inept wedding planner? It feels to much sometimes.

Time to Ditch Things!

Attempting to go some cleaning. I realize I have an excess of things. I found a box with some jewelry I no longer use, in fact its been so long I've seen the box that I had completely forgotten that I owned it. Its crazy some stuff in here is awesome but there is also a whole bunch of junk.

Next is sweaters and blouses and pants. Wow I have held on to things that I will never wear again. This is insane. Why do I have so much junk. I mean briefly I reminisce on a few items an remember the fun moments I had in them. But this is too much! No one should have this much junk. I am starting to feel like a hoarder.

Next notebooks! Dammit I am a hoarder! So many books and notebooks and loose papers with notes or poems or things on them. What is WRONG with me!

Okay resolution before the end of 2018 I will have gone through all my things. Every single things and ditched the things that I have not touched in a year!

This is insane. I am getting married soon and I can't bring all this junk in to our new life!

Cleansing time has began! Whose with me?

Exciting news!

Well great news people!!!

I have been accepted in to a Program that allows me to become a certified Teacher in TEXAS!

I am so excited!

To be honest I never thought about teaching. It wasn't something I ever thought I would enjoy it.

But recently the idea is just there inside my head and I really want to become a teacher.

 Why?

This is going to sound super cliche!
I think I can make a difference. I think back to those teachers that were excellent that showed me more than just the math or the science but those teachers that thought me to be kind, to strive for things. Those teachers that opened my eyes to how big and wonderful the world is and how we all play a part in this life.

I want to inspire someone! And I think I can do it by being a teacher.

So will see hat happens.

Life Knows Best

I lost my job on September of this year. After working there for two years due to layoffs a lot of us were let go.

It was shocking when I was told I would be let go in three weeks. It was a real bummer. Lucky for me that same day that I received such terrible news I also experienced one of my happiest moments ever.

It was Our year anniversary and I was doing my best to put the bad news in a jar until another time and to just enjoy the day with the Amazing Man that I love. He took me for a stroll to the place we had our first date, being there with a nice breeze and a light sunlight felt wonderful.

I got the urge for us to take a picture, so I began taking selfies of us. He told me we should get someone else to take a shot of us and I didn't want to. We were discussing this when a couple walked passed us and offered to take the picture for us.

As I am getting ready for us to take the picture, My love start talking and I feeling worried that the girl is still pointing at us fir the camera. But my love starts talking saying the most amazing things and all of a sudden next thing I know He is on one knee and I forget all the vocabulary I know in both English and Spanish and just keep repeating three little words "OhMyGod"

All night thats all I could say. It's like I've never been happier (except maybe when he told me he loved me for the first time) It was like all of a sudden I felt brave and powerful because the man I adore asked em to be his wife, because he wants us to be together forever.

And to all the haters, I know the divorce statistics and I know that sometimes marriage doesn't last. I am daughter of divorced parents trust me I know first hand how much pain can happen when a marriage fails. But I am also a witness of how true  and beautiful a lasting marriage is because I see it in my grandparents every single day.

And I know that Him and I will be blissfully happy together, we aren't perfect and we don't think the same on a lot of issues. But we respect love care and admire each other. We want the best for the US and we will stand together to make OUR marriage work.

And no I am not going to be a kept women I am currently and actively job searching and I have a wonderful Man supporting me every step of the way. Encouraging me and pushing me to be the best Me I can be.

So 2019 here we come!!! I can't wait to be his wife forever and ever.....

And before you ask, yes I will be changing my last name! For HIM I will.

Where am I now?

So honestly when I turned 28 I was done with  expecting to meet the love of my life. And well I was done waiting for Prince Charming. As you know I decided to quit my job as a store manager, grab all my savings and take a well deserved trip across Europe. So 2015 was the year I left it all behind to explore new worlds, taste all the different flavors the world had to offer and to meet new and amazing people from all over the world.

Despite everyone telling me how insane I was and how dangerous it be for a female to travel alone (I am serious some people would say things like what if you are attacked raped and murdered over there and no one knows where you are!) Luckily among all the discouragement there was also a lot of support. Like from my mom! My mom was amazingly supportive despite how much deep down it scared her she never let it show. Other people encouraged me as well and for that I am amazingly thankful.

The trip was fantastic It was an amazing once in a lifetime experience. It opened my eyes to a whole beautiful world around us. To the differences that should be admired. To how much there is to learn about. After this trip I learned there is no point in wasting your time with out living to the fullest in whichever corner of the world you're at.

So details on the trip can be found on past posts and I'll probably keep on writing some details on some of them since they changed my life so much.

When I came back It took me a few months to get back on my feet and find a job. It was stressful but it had all been so worth it.

By 2016 I had found a job. A job that I loved! it was fast and innovative and people were encouraging and it was a place I began to learn a lot. After the trip I decided that I would live life! To the fullest enjoying everything about it! And learning about it,  opening my eyes to adventure and the world.

By 2017 I decided to do two crazy things that scared me and excited me. I decided to Parachute! and I decided to start online dating. The dating part scared me more that jumping off a plane.

So I signed up to dating websites! Not so much because I wanted to find "The One" But because I wanted to meet someone I could share my adventures with
The nerves dialed down a bit when I realized how many normal people use online as a way to date. I started with Catholicmatch.com thinking it be the place for me to find someone. But, well that was a downer.  Then I heard about tinder which I tried for maybe  a day before deleting it forever out of my life, what a traumatizing experience that was,  bunch of creeps!

Then A friend of mine recommended Bumble! She said it was the Feminist app! The only way to go.

I was skeptical but decided to give it a try. But it turned out be quite interesting, I met some great guys who had interesting conversations, I met with others that had strange attachments to their cats, one confessed his undying devotion to me despite never meeting me, the crazy one that got furious because i didnt want to meet him for drinks at 11pm on a Tuesday at his place and well the one that blew me off once by a guy who kept texting me but never meeting me...

So after trying the feminist app I became so tired of swiping. It was like an addiction swipe swipe swipe, I wouldn't even start conversations anymore I would just swipe. I deleted it and was feeling defeated when I saw a commercial for something called Coffee Meets Bagel CMB. I looked and was skeptical but for some reason decided to sign up. I loved that it had NO swiping! it would match you with a few people every day and that was it, you'd have to wait to the next day to see more matches.

I was on it a few days when a cute guy messaged me. He said something super funny and was nice and I began talking to him. Hours later he asked for my number days later we met and then a blast of electricity plus flowing conversation, well long story short... I am engaged now!!! To be married in 2019!!!

So where am I know?

I jumped of a parachute in 2017 it was the most fantastic thing I have ever done!
After 2 years, because of layoffsI  was let go this year on the same day as I was proposed too!!! That's life for you, IRONIC!!!! So now I am job hunting while wedding planning. It can be quite stressful some days but when I turn to my side and realize that the guy I thought would never come is here. When I see that The ONE does exist and that I was blessed to meet him at the right time at the right place. In a city I never thought I would live in! In a way I never believed it would work, But now here we are Him and I together facing the world, having adventures. Ready to promise to be together FOREVER! Everyday our love for each other growing more and more.
I know I can face any stress that heads my way!

And thats where I am, 30 years old and starting a WHOLE NEW ADVENTURE, WITH THE LOVE OF MY LIFE!

Attraction

Well, the story goes like this.

Boy and Girl meet.
Girl and Boy talk. Share a meal and talk some more.
Boy and Girl take a walk, through woodland area and nice river flowing by.
They don't stop talking. Conversation is flowing as smoothly as the river.
Boy and Girl Sit down.
Boy reaches to slightly touch girls shoulder.
Energy jolt! Electricity or fire not quite sure but Girl jumps!
Boy is nervous, wondering if he messed up.
Girl is amazed, confused, overwhelmed, enchanted.
The feeling unknown to her
Boy walks her to her car.
Girl is nervous, will he kiss her? Should she let him?
Boy hugs her goodbye
Boy kisses...her head?
Girl smiles happy relieved she is not quite ready for the kiss...
Can We do this again? Boy asks
Yes Girl says
Maybe next time you can kiss her Boy thinks
I hope he kisses me next time Girl thinks.

Back in 2015 trip to Paris!

I signed up for a Tour to explore Europe in a Month in a Trafalgar Tour, highly recommended by the way. It was fun and exciting. I recall the tour beginning by taking us across Dover to France. The first thing we did was go to the arc de triomphe
I began going up the stair and realized how terribly out of shape I was. I felt like I was going to die, the space going up is tiny a spiral staircase that just keeps on going with no windows. I was out of breath and couldn't stop going because people were right behind me. There isn't much room to wiggle. I kept telling myself, Was it really worth coming up these stairs? Can the view really be worth it?

I reached a place right before the top were you could take a seat and catch your breath, I stayed there and was about to go back down when I saw that a bit more and I'd be at the top. So I kept going telling myself that if I died at least it be in Paris!
As I reached the top I felt a Breeze and my whole body felt pleasured by it. The sight was breathtaking.

For a second It felt the earth stand still and I was amazed by the beauty the magic quality of the city.

After that we visited Notre Dame which is stunning. The Stained windows and the amazing construction is just overwhelming.

A stroll after that through the Latin Quarter  stoping at shops like Kazan, then a walk through the Champs Elysees made me feel like a movie star.

And then the oh so talked about  Eiffel Tower. Up all the way to the second floor. I remember thinking How insane it would be to jump from there. How maybe some desperate soul would climb the tower to the top and look at the world below and imagine how tiny their problems were. How insignificant it all is and in one last breath jump to meet their end.

I know not the romantic first thought people have when mentioning the Eiffel tower but hey my mind isn't normal. It has its dark and twisted moments.  I wrote down on my notepad how that might be an interesting story and then continued to take in the sight from up there. It is truly beautiful.

Then at nightfall a boat ride through the Seine! The Eiffel tour flickering in the night! What a sight.

And to end a perfect trip to Paris, A visit to it's fantastic burlesque night life cannot be missed!

So that was Paris! in a nutshell!
