And so the anguish consumes me.
The routine extinguishes me.
The pettiness is self inflicted, yet the pain feels forced.
The rage is dialed down by the feeling of love,
respect.
How queer to have love turned in to hate
a burning hatred that impregnates
the air I breath.
I feel my skin too tight.
Ripping it seems like the only option.
Perhaps with enough of it gone I will live again.
The faint memory of a smile vanishes
The wind has taken it.
Along with the ashes.
They expect a smile although those are llong gone.
Trapped some place unknown.
But they expect it anyways.
Fine.
I'll give them a smile,
let the ruby drops drip.

Miryam, I love how you find the close connection between the body and the soul; how what we feel/know within always seems to manifest itself on us: "impregnates", "skin too tight"...and my favorite: "the ruby drops drip" (alliteration is one of my favorite literary devices to use...wow, that was a nerdy comment haha)
I love it
Thought it was about I left this comment, but I really enjoy reading this poem, especially after long days of classes...I know I say it over and over again, but your writing is so honest and that's what I love about it...you're willing to be yourself and that genuine expression is true beauty
